THE OBSESSION: FACE SERUMS
The six facial serums that have been game changers in my routine.
WHAT ARE SERUMS?
Serums are skincare products that help deliver skincare ingredients into the skin. Serums can be hydrating, plumping, firming, and exfoliating. Serums can even help to reduce acne and lighten hyperpigmentation.
With the weather in NYC being so brutal lately, I’ve been reaching for serums that are hydrating, nourishing, and plumping for the skin. Serums that are packed with peptides, epidermal growth factors, and hydrators like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and polygutamic acid.
I’ve also been dabbling with a few exfoliating serums, which I’m not sure I really love the concept of. When it comes to exfoliants, I love it in a toner form or an exfoliating mask. However, Sofie Pavitt’s Mandelic Clearing Serum has been one of the only exfoliating serums that I truly love and reach for.
THE SERUMS
EIGHTH DAY, The Regenerative Serum ($325) - The Regenerative Serum is powered by a patented formula featuring the highest concentration of our proprietary Peptide-rich Plasma developed by Developed by dermatological surgeon Dr. Antony Nakhla. While the price tag is large, the results are worth it. My skin looks and feels firmer, brighter, and more even.
PREQUEL, Multi-Quench Serum ($28) - A multi-level, hydrating serum formulated with dual weight polyglutamic acid, glycerin, osmolytes and ectoin that provide excellent skin moisturization, improve the skin barrier, and support skin's Natural Moisturizing Factor. Great for dry skin.
HUE, Supra-Fade Dark Spot Night Serum ($66) - This hyperpigmentation serum has truly worked wonders for my skin. I’m currently finishing my second jar, and will be opening a third soon. This targets dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and evens the skin overall texture and tone with Azelaic Acid, Alpha Arbutin, Kojic Acid, and Licorice Root Extract.
SOFIE PAVITT FACE, Mandelic Clearing Serum ($54) - The Mandelic Clearing Serum is a gentle, yet highly effective exfoliator formulated with 8% Mandelic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, and Panthenol. This helps with texture, evens skin tones, and helps reduce acne breakouts. It’s gentle enough that I can use morning and night daily. I’m a huge fan of Mandelic acid, and this is one the best I’ve tried.
LA MER, The Hydrating Infused Emulsion ($130) - Now, is this a must-have in your routine? maybe not. But do I absolutely love it using it? obviously, that’s why I’m including it lmao. emulsions are my favorite form of serums, they’re a lighter version of a moisturiser with a serum texture. Emulsions have skin-boosting properties aimed at increasing the overall level of moisture in your skin. This one from La Mer id a dream – my dry skin has loved it during this winter season.
NATURIUM, Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum ($25) - This is another Emulsion type serum that I’ve been impressed with. For the price of this serum I’m actually shocked at how effective it is, but this is Naturium we’re talking about so I'm really not shocked how good it is. This serum is a multi-peptide and antioxidant serum including encapsulated copper peptides + Argireline – an amplified peptide that helps to firm and plump the skin. This serum isn’t good for a $25 serum – it’s actually just a great serum. This could easily be a $100+ serum at any other brand, but thank god we have Naturium to give us great products without draining our wallets.
Yay! You are here 🙏🏿
