NATURIUM: AFFORDABLE LUXURY SKINCARE
Comprehensive list of my favorite products from skincare brand Naturium.
When it comes to skincare, I believe that effective ingredients and good products should be available and accessible to everyone. Skincare contributes to a large part of our overall health and wellness. When I was first starting as an esthetician, I always ran into the challenge of finding affordable skincare for clients that didn’t necessarily have the budget to spent $300+ dollars on a new skincare routine.
At the time, Paula’s Choice was really the only brand that I could recommend to my clients that I felt had a great price point, effective ingredients, a wide range of product, and was easily accessible. At the time however, Paula’s Choice wasn’t available in Brick & Mortar stores so you could only order from their online store or Dermstore. There really was a hole in the market for affordable, effective, and accessible skin care – enter 2020 and the launch of Naturium!
WHAT IS NATURIUM?
Naturium was co-founded in 2020 by Beauty Editor and Skincare influencer Susan Yara along with The Center – a Brand accelerator that builds and launches beauty brands. To be transparent, Susan has been a friend of mine for years and is someone that has supported me in my Influencer journey. Susan’s goal with Naturium was to create clean and effective skincare with science-backed ingredients at an affordable price point.
The first product that I fell in love with from Naturium was the Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%. At the time Niacinamide was the all the rage in skincare and almost every major skincare brand had their own serum, moisturizer, or cleanser with niacinamide as the “hero” ingredient. We were in the depths of covid and quarantine and my skin was going crazy like everyone’s else from wearing masks for extended periods of time.
Naturium had just launched and sent me their full serum collection – the Niacinmaide serum immediately caught my eye. I loved the percentage of niacinamide in the serum, the inclusion of Zinc (a soothing a calming ingredient), and Hyaluronic acid. A simple formula that turned out to be incredibly effective at soothing the irritation, calming inflammation, reducing redness, and overall making my skin look better, brighter, and more even.
After that first experience, that serum became a staple in my routine (one I still recommended today) and Naturium as a brand became one I looked to for affordable skincare products for me and my clients.
NATURIUM PICKS: CLEANSERS
Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm ($20) - A cleansing balm formulated with purple ginseng, plant-based esters and a nourishing blend of linoleic-rich oils that help to dissolve makeup, oil, sunscreen and other impurities. This is simple and effective cleansing balm that I love for all skin types. I filmed a review on it, which you can watch here a few years ago.
NATURIUM PICKS: SERUMS
Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% ($17) - This is clearly a no brainer as I just spent 2 mins talking about how much I love this serum. formulated with pure 12% niacinamide and 2% zinc PCA, and is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of dark spots, pores, plus fine lines and wrinkles
Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum ($25) - A Peptide serum for only $25 that actually works and improves skin texture? insane! Formulated with an advanced multi-peptide blend, including encapsulated copper peptides and Argireline® Amplified peptide, to improve texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Vitamin C Super Serum Plus ($26) - I Think this is one serum from Naturium that is severely underrated. It’s perfect for those who are struggling with the dull, dehydrated, lackluster looking skin. If you feel like the texture and tone of your skin is looking a bit dull – this is the serum for you. formulated with vitamin c, retinol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and salicylic acid to help improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, smooth and brighten the appearance of skin
Azelaic Acid Emulsion 10% ($22) - I love Azelaic Acid. I think it’s another ingredient that is a bit underrated for its ability to treat acne, smooth texture, and even out hyperpigmentation. This is one of my favorites (right after the Paula’s Choice Azeliac Acid booster). The emulsion texture gives it a moisturizing quality as well.
Mandelic Acid 12% Topical Acid ($20) - This is great Mandelic Acid serum at and even better price point. With the concretion being at 12% this is quite the effective serum for reducing breakouts and acne, smoothing texture, and brightening overall tone.
Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.05% ($29) - This serum is formulated with a unique, sustained-release retinaldehyde; a potent next-gen retinol that directly converts to retinoic acid, to address the look of fine lines and wrinkles, uneven tone and texture.
NATURIUM PICKS: MOISTURIZERS
Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream ($25.00) - This is an OG favorite of mine from Naturium. This cream has a balm texture that instantly melts into your skin. formulated with plant-derived ceramides, that help restore and support skin’s natural moisture barrier to relieve dry, dull skin.
Multi- Peptide Rich Cream ($25) - While the Plant Ceramide cream is my OG THIS is my current fave – I literally just finished my first jar and wept a little when I finished it. This cream is just so damn good. It reminds me a lot of Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream and Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream – but for a fraction of the price. It’s rich and decadent, but not too heavy on the skin. The inclusion of palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, copper tripeptide-1 and encapsulated ferulic acid help target fine lines and wrinkles, plump, and hydrate for a more youthful-looking complexion.
Dew-Glow Moisturizer SPF 50 ($22) - This is has become one of my favorite sunscreens, and one of the best on the market. It perfect for combination and dry skin. It applies invisibly on all skin tones to provide broad spectrum SPF 50 PA++++ protection while leaving a dewy, radiant finish.
UV Reflect Antioxidant SPF 50 ($26) - This is another great sunscreen from Naturium. It has a light-weight, water-like texture which makes it ideal for oily/combo skin.
NATURIUM PICKS: BODYCARE
The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash ($16) - This is one of the best exfoliating body washes I’ve ever used. This has smoothed rough texture on my skin, eliminated body breakouts, and has lighten hyperpigmentation.
The Energizer Mandelic Acid Body Wash ($16) - Invigorating and deeply cleansing the skin. Formulated with fermented sugar cane and mandelic acid, a gentle yet effective AHA, this refreshing cleanser helps to neutralize and fight body odor
The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Hydrating Body Wash ($16) - This is will be your BFF if you have dry, sensitive, and eczema prone skin. hydrating body wash transforms from a luscious oil consistency to a gentle lather, cleansing without stripping the skin of essential moisture. Formulated with 50% glycerin, a blend of linoleic-rich oils and plant-derived squalane
The Perfector Salicylic Acid Body Wash ($16) - This is a great body wash for those that suffer from body acne and body breakouts! Salicylic Acid body wash is formulated with encapsulated, time released salicylic acid that provides gentle exfoliation to help purify pores and smooth skin without dryness or irritation. My only qualm about this is the pump. The body wash has such a viscous texture that its sometimes hard to pump out – hopefully Naturism can work on that!
KP Body Scrub & Mask ($18) - instantly transforms bumpy, dry, rough, and dull skin. Formulated with pumice and jojoba esters, plus AHA/BHA/PHA chemical exfoliants, the scrub grips, polishes, and smooths the appearance of skin.
The Glow Getter Body Oil ($24) - luxurious body oil deeply moisturizes, helping to reinforce skin's natural lipid layer. Formulated with a botanical blend of antioxidant and linoleic-rich oils including olive, jojoba, rosehip and sea buckthorn, plus squalane for glowing
def picking up a serum!
